R. B. Wilson was raised near Dripping Springs, Texas and at the age of 78 he still resides on and operates his ranch. Wilson has a large collection of trophy buckles he won from 1953-1985 for calf roping, team roping and steer roping riding his favorite mount “Gray Dutchman”.
R. B. worked as a pick-up man for producers from Tom Carson in the 1940’s to leading Texas producers throughout the state. He served as pick-up man for the Rock Springs 4th of July rodeo for 7 years.
He was commissioned as a Special Texas Ranger during his 48 years as a Brand Inspector for the Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Association and was well known for his ability to “get what he went after”.
Wilson carried an RCA card but only made the close rodeos. He placed 5th at Houston in the late 50’s. H won the George West Texas Police Officers Rodeo Association All-Round in 1985 and hung up his spurs.
