Jimmie George

Jimmie George was born March 16, 1934, in New Braunfels, Texas. He got involved in rodeo at the age of 14, riding bareback horses and bulls. He eventually decided to concentrate on bull riding. Georg won his first bull riding as a teenager at a youth show in San Antonio. Throughout the 1950s, he won the bull riding at a number of rodeos in Texas, including Georgetown, Bastrop, and Seguin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and served one year in Korea. Following his military service, Jimmie competed in rodeos throughout Texas and New Mexico. He was a member of the SRA and the Rodeo Cowboys Association. Jimmie retired from bull riding in 1961 and made his home in Florence, Texas.
