Cebe Reed, owned by Martha Josey, won almost every open rodeo and PRCA rodeo in Texas during his barrel-racing career. He was the champion horse for the Texas Barrel Racing Association in 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967, and went on to compete at the NFR in 1968 and 1969. He also won the West Texas Barrel Racing Association Championship. It was not uncommon for all the cowboys to come to the arena to see “the horse that couldn’t be beat” and watch Cebe demonstrate his extraordinary barrel-running style. Cebe won quarter horse shows and rodeos throughout the nation, breaking many arena records, some of which still hold today. He won 52 barrel races in a row and 7 horse trailers.
