Larry’s ideas changed when he gave up a college degree midway through his studies at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California and earned his card in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1972. He continued a full time rodeo career until 1993.

Larry is a life time Gold Card member of the PRCA and still completes in the team roping but stays close to home in West, Texas.
