ABOUT WINSLOW
Winslow was raised and started by Owen Winslow of Cotulla, Texas. Realizing that the horse had talent, Mr. Winslow approached Jake Walker and told him that he needed to own the big sorrel colt for his sons Morris, Richard and Bud. After some horse trading Literally, 2 Ranch horses and $250.00 Cash, the Walker Brothers were proud owners of what would turn out to be one of the greatest Calf Roping Horses ever. They appropriately named the horse Winslow.
Winslow carried Morris Walker to the NFR his rookie year 1962 and was named Calf Roping Horse of the Year. Winslow also carried Richard ‘Dick’ Walker to the NFR in 63’64 and 66.
Bud Walker rode Winslow during his High School rodeo days.
“Winslow was the best going at the time and one of the best Calf Roping Horses I have ever seen.” – Phil Lyne
Winslow Died in 1968 of Colic at the approximate agg of 14.
