Steve is the current manager at XCL Feeders in Hereford, TX. He is a member of the Spicer Gripp Memorial Youth Foundation which puts on the annual Spicer Grip Memorial Ropings, one of the most prestigious ropings to win today. The foundation has donated over $1,200,000 to West Texas A&M University in Canyon, providing 500+ scholarships to area students pursuing degrees in the ag industry.
Steve still enjoys roping. In 2018, he and partner Chad Smith won the #14 Priefert WSTR Finales coming from 9th call back. The duo pocketed $178,000 for the days’ work.
