Sig Faircloth was born at Meadsville, Texas in Robertson County on September 22, 1903. When he was three years old, his family moved to Ranger.
Sig has ranched for thirty years, two of them in Oklahoma. He has done ranch at one time or another for George Glascock, M. G. Wells and Shell McDowell.
He was a member of the Cowboy Turtles Association, forerunner to the Rodeo Cowboys Association and a member of the RCA and placed on the inactive list in good standing.
He was also made life member of the Old Timers Association at the Texas Cowboy Reunion in Stamford, Texas. Sig was president of the West Texas Cutting Horse Association for five years.
A roper who has roped calves at rodeos all over Texas. Sig has also judged many rodeos and cutting horse shows, including the Top of Texas Rodeo in Pampa for five years in the 1950’s and the San Antonio NCHA cutting horse contest.
Sig has been in the livestock auction business for 35 years.
