Shawn was born August 22, 1969 are received Jesus at the age of 9. He lived on the family ranch until his untimely death on August 17, 1996 while pro-rodeoing in Oregon. His public education was in Irann, Texas. He attended Odessa Jr. College and finished at Tarleton State University. His accomplishments included:

AJRA Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping (All Around and World Champion)

High School Region II Rodeo All Around Champion ’87 in Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping Boys Cutting.

Odessa Junior College (SW Region Champion, NIRA National Champion ’88-90)

Tarleton State University (Southwestern Region Champion ’90-’91)

PRCA Highlights:

Houston, El Paso, Heart of Texas, San Antonio Co-Champion, San Angelo All Around, Cheyenne, Tucson, the Gate Ways, OK, Lazy E, Canby Co-All Around, North Platte, $30,000 bonus round at Cheyenne.

’92 Calf Roping Rookie Runner-Up, Texas Calf Roping Rookie, ’93 PRCA Regular season Calf Roping leader.

’96 Calf roping Top 15, 8th at time of death, PRCA Career earning $500,000.

Life Member of the AQHA. His horses: Lemonade, last Dial, Butch, Rebel, Hatie, Rosie, Money, Jelly Bean Doc.

Shawn was known for being a very polite, friendly, loving Christian cowboy. He is survived by family, Kenny, Glenda, and Moncia McMullen. His motto: TAKE PRIDE IN EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO.
