Cliff Overstreet and his wife Paula live in Weatherford, Texas. Cliff was raised in Mansfield, Texas. He worked summers at the Kow Bell Arena in Mansfield through grade school and high school. Cliff started riding bulls later in high school at the Kow Bell. His father, Walter Overstreet, judged many Kow Bell Rodeos while Cliff was working and riding.
After high school graduation, Cliff attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. and competed in Bull Riding at NIRA Rodeos during his four years of college. He graduated in 1976 with an Agri-Business Degree. He obtained his PRCA Card in 1976 and competed in PRCA Bull Riding until 1989. In 1986 he qualified for the Texas Circuit Finals. He retired from bull riding in 1989.
In 1989, following in his Father’s footsteps, he began judging NIRA Rodeos and various bull riding events in the State of Texas. In 1991, he became a Reserve PRCA Official. He held that position until 2001, and at that time, he was hired full time as a PRCA Pro Official, a position he currently holds today.
From 1994 to 1998 Cliff served as President of the Texas Circuit Finals Board of Directors. As of 2024, Cliff Overstreet has judged the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for 23 years and at this time he is still contracted by the PRCA in that position. In 2020, he was selected “Judge of the Year in the WPRA” and in 2023, he was awarded “Outstanding Service and Dedication Judge in the WPRA.”
