Mickey Gee

Men Contestant

As a young boy growing up, Mickey Gee knew he wanted to be a cowboy. He joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1996 and three years later in 1999, he won a world championship title in steer wrestling. That same year he set records in steer wrestling earnings and aggregate time on ten head at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV. He bolds championship titles at some of the most prestigious rodeos across the country including Cheyenne Frontier Days, Calgary Stampede, the Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West in Reno, NV, won back-to-back titles at the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show in Fort Worth, TX in 1998 and 1999, and was the NFR average winner in 1999 and 2003. 

 

As an all-around cowboy, Mickey has competed at the invitational Wrangler Timed Event Championship in Guthrie, OK competing in team roping, tie down roping, steer wrestling, and steer roping. He was named Top Hand Cowboy at the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering in 2004, 2006, and 2011. Mickey also served as a pickup man for Beutler & Son Rodeo Company for four years. 

 

Mickey’s professional rodeo career spanned more than 15 years. After a memorable trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2011, Mickey made the decision to retire from the sport ofrodeo to be able to spend more time with his family. Having dreamed of becoming an auctioneer, Mickey attended the Texas Auction Academy in February, 2015. He became a licensed auctioneer in the state of Texas on March 21, 2015 and Gee Auctions, LLC was formed shortly after. 

 

Mickey resides in Wichita Falls with his wife Amber, daughter Hadley, and son Cooper. When not busy with an auction, Mickey enjoys playing golf, competing in ranch rodeos, and attending his sons sporting events.
