Four-times Champion Saddle Bronc Rider of the Southwestern Rodeo Association (SRA) for the years 1964, 1965, 1968 and 1970, as well as being in the top 4 in the saddle bronc riding for 8 years from 1959 through 1974 in the SRA which was later known as the Texas Rodeo Association.
His favorite event was the saddle bronc riding, but he also excelled in the steer wrestling and was in the top ten in the SRA in that event and the All-Around for twelve years.
A competitive cowboy in Texas rodeos, he was also a member and card holder in the RCH for several years.
Marvin rodeoed continuously from 1955 until 1976 with the exception of two years served with the US Army 1960-1962 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as horseshoer and jumping horse trainer for the US Modern Pentathlon.
He continued his horseshoeing career and is an enthusiastic supporter of the sport of rodeo. Marvin Weyer and his wife, Genevieve live in League City, Texas.
