Lonnie grew up on the Wyatt family ranch in Well County, Co. He began his rodeo career riding calves at age 8. He continued riding broncs and bulls through High School and qualified for the High School Finals in 1976. Lonnie received his PRCA permit at age 15 and bought his PRCA card at age 17. He won Fort Worth and began a full-time career in rodeo that year. Lonnie won rodeos in Texas such as Houston 1983, El Paso 1982 and 1993, George Paul Memorial Super Bull in Del Rio and many more. During his rodeo career he qualified for PRCA National Finals rodeo in 1981 through 1985.Lonnie finished as PRCA reserve world champion in bull riding in 1983. Today Lonnie lives in LaBelle, Texas and continues to work cattle, training horses, and repairing gear in his leather shop.
