Keith Chapman’s rodeo career and passion for riding saddle broncs spanned over three decades. During that time, Keith qualified for two College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), 1972 and 1973, four PRCA Texas Circuit Finals, 1978, 1980,1982 & 1984. He also qualified for nine National Senior Pro Rodeo Association Finals. He was the National Champion Saddle Bronc Rider in 1998 and 1999, Reserve Champion in 1998-2002.
Keith graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Administration in 1971 and a Masters of Agricultural Economics in 1973. He was a member of the Texas A&M Rodeo Team that was the NIRA Southern Region Champions in 1971-72 and 1972-73.
In 1974, he obtained his PRCA and competed from1974-1986 and 1991-2004 and is a Lifetime Member Gold Card holder. He served as the Texas Circuit saddle bronc riding director form 1984-1986.
Keith was born October 23, 1948 in Haskell, Texas to Jack and Joy Chapman. He was raised on the family farm/ranch in Haskell County, along with a brother Ronnie who farms and ranches in Haskell, brother Terry, a 2007 TRCHOF inductee and a sister Glenda Gayle- who was Miss Rodeo Texas in 1976.
Keith recently retired from his position at Livestock Marketing Association after 37 years of service to the Livestock marketing industry and is currently splitting time between his residence in Georgetown and the family operation in Haskell.
