John Gass worked as a pick-up man for the NFR in 1974 and 1980. His rodeo career includes National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Saddle Bronc Champion in 1974. He qualified four times for the Texas Circuit Finals in Saddle Bronc Riding. His career highlights include wins at Albuquerque, Amarillo, San Angelo, Abilene, Odessa, and Cody, Wyoming, just to name a few. John had a three year streak of qualified rides with no buck offs.
He proudly served his country in Viet Nam. He currently farms and resides south of Lubbock, Texas.
