Jack was one of the original owners of the Cattlemen Exchange Cattle Auction in Edinburg. He also was a land developer and a cattleman. Jack won the College National Roping Finals Championship for four years from 1957 through 1960, holding the high school and collegiate calf roping record that still stands today. Jack was also president of the National High School Rodeo Association and among other titles, won the Cheyenne, Wyoming calf roping championship.
