George Thomas Taylor Jr.

Born: November 2, 1930

Died: December 25, 1995 Cleburne, Texas

George first started participating in the sport of rodeo at the age of 15 years-old at Maud, Oklahoma with Trick and Fancy Roping.

He loved and competed in most rodeo events including bareback and bull riding, trick riding, barrel man, trained Brahman bulls and trained numerous horses, mule and dog acts. His most famous specialty horse was a Palomino Paint gelding named Mego. Mego performed 35 tricks including spinning a rope in his mouth, and marching, dancing and bowing.

George was a member of the IRA for several years and also a Gold Card holder in the PRCA.

He performed in many prestigious rodeos including Calgary, Cheyenne, Madison Square Garden and Johannesburg, South Africa.

He and Mego also performed on stage at various conventions and on TV. Some of the television appearances were: The Today Show and Nashville Live with Tanya Tucker and the popular Walker Texas Ranger.
