Dickey Cox

Dickey Cox, from McKinney, Texas, was born on July 12, 1939. As a bull rider, Dickey Cox rode in the National Finals Rodeo in 1963, ’64, ’68, ’70, and in 1963, he won Reserve World Champion bull rider. In 1960, he also was the NIRA Reserve World Champion.

Other rodeos which he won bull riding are: Fort Worth 1963, 1968 – Houston 1963, 1970 – Montgomery, Alabama, 1963 – Odessa, Texas – Nashville, Tennessee – Ellensburg, Washington – North Platte, Nebraska – Belton, Texas, and in 1973 he won in Cheyenne, and he had not been on a bull for 2 1/2 years prior.

Dickey Cox received his RCA permit in 1961 and his RCA Card, #C8522, in July 1962.
