Dan Webb

Men Contestant

“Quietly consistent,” they called him. Dan Webb grew up in Wise County and began roping at age 11. He won his first All-Around Cowboy Saddle at the 1972 Lamar County FFA Rodeo. Rodeoing and winning became a way of life for Dan. He attended Weatherford Junior College on a full rodeo scholarship and finished his college rodeo career at Tarleton State University where he qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo twice, competing in calf roping, steer wrestling, and team roping.

In the fall of 1977, Dan was ready to move on to professional rodeo. Now specializing in calf roping, he filled his permit and bought his PRCA card before the end of the year. In 1978, he set his sights on making his first National Finals Rodeo. The following November he pulled into Oklahoma City with the other 14 best calf ropers in the world to compete in the first of his eight NFR’s. Dan was hooked and went on to qualify for every NFR he tried to make from 1978-1984 and again in 1986.

Dan’s big wins include San Antonio, Reno, Pendleton, Dodge City, Cody WY, Greeley CO, Jackson MS, Edmonton Alberta, Medicine Hat Alberta, and Bremerton WA. Dan even won the last go-round of his last NFR.

Dan now resides in Madisonville, Texas with his wife Lisa, son Tanner, and daughter Tacy.
