Clinton H. “Bud” Humphrey

Bud started his rodeo career in 1940 in the bareback and bull riding events.

In he joined the Cowboy Turtle Association. He remained a member until it became the Rodeo Cowboys Association. He was also a member of the “Southwestern Rodeo Cowboy Association” from 1950-1953. He won the bareback title for the year in 1950 and again in 1951. He is a previous member of the “Old Timers Association”.

He was a regular contestant at many of the Texas rodeos such as Belton, Waco, Killeen, Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth. Out of state, he went to such places Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisana, Oklahoma, Madison Square Garden and Boston Garden just to name a few.

He got on his last bull in 1975 in Temple, Texas and his last bareback horse in 1965 in Wimberly.

Currently he is a Gold Card member of the “Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association”, a member of the “Rodeo Historical Society”, “Pro Rodeo Historical Society” and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Association”.
