Buran was a good bull rider and a good bareback rider. He joined the RCA in 1948 and was forced to quit in 1953 because of bad health.
Elliott rodeoed mostly in Texas, Louisiana and some in Colorado.
He worked rodeos produced by Tommy Steiner, Bobby Estes, Melvin Harper, Triangle Bell & Winfree Cattle Co.
At the age of 64 Buran Elliott died of cancer.
