Bill Williams started his rodeo career in and around his hometown of Texarkana, Texas in 1943. He competed in the bareback riding, bull riding and steer wrestling. Billy earned his RCA card in 1945 and hit the road making all the big rodeos until the Army came along in 1951. He spent 18 months in Korea.
In 1953 he returned to the rodeo life and took up where he left off in the arena. Williams served as an RCA spokesman for many years and selected stock for the NFR for 5 years. Bill also judged many of the big rodeos like Cheyenne, Houston, etc. He also judged the NFR from 1963-65.
In 1970 Bill retired from rodeo and along with his wife of 51 years, Generva, settled down in Clarksville, Texas. They have two children, Chuck Williams and Renee Williams Harvey.
