Shelly is one of the nation’s leading female television rodeo sportscasters and cutting horse breeders.

She produced the National Cutting Horse Association Open Futurity Champion, “Some Kinda Memories” from her famous mare “Some Kinda Playgirl.”
In the world of professional rodeo, she created and promoted the Coors Chute-Out series, a million-dollar sponsorship for Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. She is widely recognized as one of the first spokesperson for the sport of rodeo and was the original Miss Coors Rodeo from 1980-1989. Shelly recently launched Western Lifestyles TV to further promote the western lifestyle that is the basis for rodeo.

Shelly was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1990 and she is a recognized veteran of Equine Sports Broadcasting. As an avid cutting horse competitor, Shelly was twice named NCHA Celebrity Cutting Champion. She and her husband, Rick, own and operate a cutting horse facility in Weatherford Texas.
