How Inductees Are Chosen

Nomination for 2018 Induction
Must be received by June 30, 2017


  • You must be a current Sustaining or Associate Member of the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame to submit a nomination. (Membership Application attached)
  • Sponsor is solely responsible for the accuracy of his/her nominee information. Incomplete or inaccurate bios will not be considered:


  • AGE: Nominee must be at least 45 years old. Special circumstances such as death or retirement may be considered.
  • TEXAS RESIDENT: Nominee must have been raised in Texas or have been a Texas resident for five (5) years during the time of rodeo activity and have listed Texas as their home state.


  • STEP 1. Current Sustaining and Associate Members may submit nominations.
  • STEP 2. The Board of Directors will determine the categories and number of individuals for induction in each category. Generally, the categories are as follows:
    Men Contestants Deceased
    Women Contestants Rodeo Organizations & Groups
    Rodeo Personnel Rodeo Animals
  • STEP 3. An INDUCTEE NOMINATING COMMITTEE composed of past Inductees will review the nominations. They will select the appropriate number of FINALISTS in each category. Generally two for each proposed Inductee position.
  • STEP 4. All current Sustaining and Associate Members vote on who is to be inducted.
  • STEP 5. The RODEO REUNION & TRCHF INDUCTION held in April of each year.


  • The completed Nomination Form.
  • Must include a short typed biography (approximately 200 words or less) stating the nominees rodeo history and why they should be in the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.
  • Nomination material is best submitted as a Word Document via email but may be typed and mailed.
  • A minimum of two photos of the nominee suitable for reproduction including 1 action and 1 head shot.
  • Incomplete or inaccurate bios will not be considered.
